Decorative Concrete Resurfacing is a Springfield Lakes based, QBCC-licensed (1109935) and fully insured concreting business working across South East Queensland. One crew grinds, repairs, lays and seals every job — no subcontracted decorative work. Slabs are moisture and movement tested before a finish is quoted, and replacement is recommended in writing where an overlay would fail.
Preparation is the job
Decorative concrete is easy to sell and easy to get wrong. The photographs are all about the last day — the colour, the pattern, the sealer going on. The part that decides whether the surface is still there in ten years happens on the first day, before anything decorative is mixed.
So we grind every slab back to sound concrete, moisture test it, and check for movement before quoting a finish. If the slab fails those tests, an overlay will fail with it, and we say so rather than taking the deposit. That has cost us jobs. It has also meant we do not spend our weeks going back to fix work we were paid for once.
The crew that grinds your slab is the crew that lays the finish. Nothing decorative is subcontracted out, which is why the finish is consistent across the whole area rather than changing where one contractor stopped and another started.
Everything is quoted in writing with the build-up in millimetres, the sealer product and coats, and the cure times for foot traffic and vehicles. If we recommend replacement over resurfacing, that is in writing too.
Decorative Concrete Resurfacing is the decorative division of Creative Concrete Constructions Pty Ltd (ABN 49 120 020 439). The same company does the structural concreting — slabs, driveways, retaining, excavation — which is why a resurfacing enquiry that turns out to need a new pour stays with one contractor instead of being handed on.

Preparation is most of the work and all of the warranty. The decorative part is the last day.
01 — Grind and test
Diamond grind back to sound concrete, then moisture and bond test. If the slab fails, you get told before you pay for an overlay that will lift.
02 — Repair and prime
Cracks cut, filled and bridged. Falls corrected so water leaves the slab instead of sitting on it. Primer coat the same day.
03 — Lay the finish
Overlay, stencil, aggregate or flake, laid to the build-up quoted. One crew, no subcontracted finishers.
04 — Seal and cure
Two coats of UV-stable sealer. Foot traffic at 24 hours, vehicles at 72 on most finishes.
How we think about the work

Send a photo of the slab.
We will tell you whether it can be resurfaced, what finish suits it, and what it costs — before anyone turns up with a grinder.
