From your message to a written quote
We reply the same day, usually with two or three questions — approximate area, what is on the slab now, and whether there is any cracking or ponding. If a photo came through, half of that is already answered.
Then we come out. The visit takes twenty minutes to an hour depending on the size of the job: we measure, grind a test patch somewhere inconspicuous, moisture test, load any cracks to check for movement, and check the falls. Samples come with us so the finish can be chosen against your actual brick and render in daylight rather than off a screen.
The written quote follows within a couple of days. It separates preparation from finish, names the system and the sealer, states the build-up in millimetres and gives the cure times for foot traffic and vehicles. If the slab failed testing, the quote says that instead, along with what we would do about it.
There is no charge for any of it and no obligation at the end. If our number is not the right one for you, the assessment is still yours to use.
What to include if you are sending pictures
A few good photographs answer most of what we would otherwise ask on the phone.
- One wide shot of the whole area from a standing position, so we can see the shape and the fall
- One close shot of the worst section — the crack, the spalling, the patch, the stain
- The edges: where the slab meets the garage, the coping, the kerb or the garden
- Anything already on the slab: old sealer, paint, tiles, carpet glue or a previous overlay
- A tape measure or a shoe in one shot for scale, plus the rough dimensions if you have them
